Marie-Valentine Florin is the executive director of the International Risk Governance Center at EPFL (https://irgc.epfl.ch). She organises IRGC collaborative activities, focusing in particular on the role of IRGC as a multi-stakeholder platform and a convening place at the interface between science and policy, to address complex risk matters involved in technology, when benefits and risks are interconnected.
Before joining EPFL she was managing director of the International Risk Governance Council (IRGC) www.irgc.org which developed a framework for nanotechnology risk governance in 2006.

The presentation will discuss why a generic framework for multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder governance of risks related to applications of nanotechnology would be beneficial and what specific features it should encompass. It will also highlight possible limitations, in view of future developments.
