Felix SIMA finished a bilateral PhD in Physics – Chemistry in 2011, at both University of Bucharest in Romania and University of Haute Alsace, France. He followed postdoctoral studies as a Fellow of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science at RIKEN, Japan, in 2014 for one year where he has now a Visiting Scientist position since 2015. He joined National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics – INFLPR in 2005 where he is in present Scientific Secretary of Institute, a group leader and competence representative for biomimetic laser processing, characterisation and testing of photonic structures at micro- and nanoscale for advanced biological applications.

His research interests cover bioprinting of functional structures and materials for biomimetic applications, development of new laser technologies for integration, assembling and interrogation of relevant microfluidic and photonic biosystems.

Title presentation: Laser processing and manufacturing of micro- and nanoscale biosystems
