Arpit Singhal received his PhD in Energy and Process Engineering from the NTNU – Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2018 in the field of computational fluid dynamics. His main research interest is the development of heat and mass transfer models in packed bed reactors through multiscale modelling and simulations in particular coupling and linking of discrete (particle) and continuum models to better understand and design novel industrial relevant solutions for reactor scale simulations. Currently, his main research interests include the development of interoperability mechanisms enabled through ontologies in the area of materials modelling specifically towards continuum level simulations. Since 2018 he is a member of materials informatics team lead by Dr Adham Hashibon at Fraunhofer IWM, Germany who is an active member of the management board of European Materials Modelling Council (EMMC, http://emmc.info). Dr Singhal is working in a number of EU projects (MarketPlace, FORCE) promoting interoperability and utilization of integrated materials modelling in industry.
Main fields of interest Materials Informatics, Multiscale Modelling, Open Simulation Platforms, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Gas-Solid Heat Transfer, Reactor Engineering.
