Dr. Antonios Vavouliotis is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Adamant Composites Ltd.  He holds a Ph.D. degree (Ph.D.-2009) and Diploma in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering (Dipl.-Ing.-2003) from the University of Patras. His doctoral research was on the development of advanced composite materials using nanotechnology for aerospace applications.

With over 12 years of Technical and Managerial  experience in innovation projects on nanotechnologies for composites materials, he dealt with various issues related to design, processing, nano-modification, manufacturing, testing & characterisation and non-destructive methods.  He has led very complex projects with high uncertainties and many involved parties and delivered exceptional technical solutions in very demanding problems.

In 2012 with a group of highly experienced research engineers he co-founds Adamant Composites Ltd. A young and extrovert technology SME with the vision to create sustainable development in Greece and Europe based on technology and innovation. The ultimate aim of the company is to establish an industrial innovation hub for the design and manufacturing of products and services of high added value. In 2015, he had the honor to be part of 40 under 40 list of young Greek entrepreneurs of Fortune Greece magazine. Since 2015 he acts also as Chief Executive Officer of Pleione Energy SA, an international Joint Venture in the field of innovative energy storage applications using nanotechnology.

He is an experienced innovation business professional skilled in nanotechnologies, composites materials and space engineering and has a demonstrated history of working in industrial R&D activities. He has participated in more that 30 research projects funded by H2020, FP7 EU framework and European Space Agency. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals and 3 chapters in Scientific books.
